Day Ten of the Waterloo Cleanse

Today started off with a tiny smidge of a headache at 6am before heading off to yoga.  I was really hoping the practice would rid me of the headache, but then I started to get really hungry half way through which only made the headache worse (that’s what happens when you eat stir fry for dinner).  To top it all off, just as I arrived at work, the annual fire drill was starting!

With that, I felt the best thing to do to get back on track was to have a green tea and listen to Radio Zen.  I have started to listen to this radio stream over the last week and find it incredibly relaxing, and there are even songs you can download.  Last weekend I had it on and birds were chirping when Al came into the house and he thought they were birds outside! I know, right!  We also had it playing when we had a little nap on the weekend.  Very peaceful, I encourage you to give it a try.

For dinner tonight I wanted comfort food so I decide to make a cleansed version of my vegan “cream” of broccoli soup.  In order to cleanse the recipe I swapped out the potato for a sweet potato, which I was a little hesitant about at first, but in the end it worked out well.  Also, instead of 1 cup of soy milk, I used 1/2 cup of unsweetened almond milk.  Al made rosemary infused grilled daiya-cheese sandwiches on kamut bread (using olive oil instead of butter) in the meal maker. Super Yummy!

Enjoy !
